The slide is pure APX in appearance with its distinctive wide-apart grasping ridges running the entire slide length except for flat spots by the ejection port, but the rest of the pistol harkens to an earlier Beretta pocket 9mm, the Nano of 2011. It uses what might be called a “semi-single stack” magazine, à la GLOCK’s recently introduced G48 and G43X. But the concealed carry/off duty gun market has an insatiable desire for smaller, slimmer 9mm pistols, and to satisfy this large niche now comes the Beretta APX Carry. Beretta included a chopped and channeled version - still with a double-stack magazine - they call the APX Compact. Soooo, right out of the box I would give this gun a 2 star rating, after the mods, it is a 4 star + gun.Beretta came relatively late to the polymer striker-fired “service pistol” market, but their Apex in this format has drawn raves from most reviewers. The grip and magazine checkering was too aggressive, I knocked it down with a small file and it feels much better now. The reset is non existent but it doesn’t bother me and I can’t change it without replacing the entire trigger group. It took me 2 days to polish all contacting parts and grind the sear and striker contacts to bring it down to 5 3/4 lbs, I also adjusted the trigger safety so it won’t hang up. Now the bad: probably the worst trigger I have ever seen on any gun period…9.5 to 10 lbs with a considerable creep, roughness and strange clicking noises. I like the looks of the APX A1 carry, the slide is easy to rack due to the aggressive and well designed serrations, the sights are good, accuracy is very good, almost on par with the kahr pm series, the gun dimensions are good for concealed carry, the machining and surface finish is very good throughout, reliability is impeccable, 290 rounds of hand loads and 16 rounds of factory Winchester loads with one failure to eject due to a short powder charge (my fault). Thank you Gunprime for making our family safer out there. Glad I pondered Gunprime for the purchase and will absolutely use them from here on out!. USPS was also accurate and it shipped undamaged and all there in the box. Then the tracking number came soon after and I had a better accurate idea of where said firearm was at every step by the emails I got through Gunprime. They put my worries to ease with their instant email confirmation of the purchase and processes of the delivery. But Gunprime was extremely professional and very very reliable. I have never bought a firearm online and I can honestly say that I was extremely hesitant to buying online because it's not something I can see or hold before I actually make the purchase. But most importantly I just wanna thank Gunprime for their process. Very happy fiancé and an even happier me. Perfect quick draw 9mm with my favorite weapons manufacturer. It looks and feels like the baby sibling to the fullsize A1. We are a Beretta family and this makes our third APX model and I have to say that the actual gun is very well made!. I bought this gun as a concealed carry tool for my fiancé.
